Start at the 12th-century Château Fort de Pirou, one of Normandy's oldest castles, featuring three moats, the 58-meter Pirou Embroidery, and panoramic views from the ramparts. The castle closes from 12:00 to 14:00 for lunch. Afterward, head to Plage de Pirou for beach time along 6 km of fine sand. The beach has a seawater reservoir allowing swimming even at low tide. The route works year-round, though the castle has reduced hours from November to March.
