Naturospace

Naturospace is a tropical butterfly house and exotic bird sanctuary located 700 meters from Honfleur's old harbor. Opened in 1999, the 1,000 m² climate-controlled greenhouse maintains 25-28°C with tropical mist effects, creating an Amazonian-style environment. Visitors walk among hundreds of free-flying butterflies from South America, Southeast Asia, and Africa, including the electric-blue Morpho and owl-eyed Caligo species. Since 2008, rare tropical birds live freely in the greenhouse, notably the Victoria Crowned Pigeon - the world's largest pigeon species with a spectacular blue crest. New chrysalides arrive weekly from sustainable breeding farms and hatch in the on-site eclosarium. Hours vary seasonally: closing at 18:30 in spring/autumn, 19:30 in summer, and 16:30 in winter. Closed mid-November through mid-February except during Christmas holidays. Free parking available on site.
