Les Jardins d'Étretat

Created in 2016 by landscape architect Alexandre Grivko, the gardens showcase revolutionary contemporary landscaping design.

The gardens are perched on the dramatic Amont cliff, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the iconic rock formations and English Channel.

The gardens hold the prestigious 'Jardin Remarquable' label from the French Ministry of Culture and won the European Garden Award in the 'Best Development of a Historic Park or Garden' category. They also earned two stars in the Michelin Green Guide, making them one of the most acclaimed contemporary gardens in Europe.

The seven thematic gardens - Avatar, Impressions, Amont, Zen, Aval, La Manche, and Emotions - feature over 100,000 plants shaped into dramatic neo-futuristic forms. The topiary sculptures are designed to mimic the organic shapes of the surrounding cliffs, creating a surreal dialogue between nature and art.

The site was originally the property of Madame Thébault, a celebrated French actress of the early 20th century who was a close friend and neighbor of the Impressionist master Claude Monet. Her original garden inspired Monet's own artistic vision, connecting this location to one of art history's most influential movements.
